Edfu back to Luxor -- Oct 14
We docked overnight in the town of Edfu. Morning tour is of the Edfu temple which we get to by horse and carriage. There are so many carriages there is a traffic jam! The temple is memorable because it is so intact and dedicated to Horus. Hanan takes a photo of each group in front of the statue. Our last temple. A good one to end with.
Back to the ship to set sail back to Luxor. Something is amiss at lunch as we wait a good long time for the salad and pasta entrees.
As we go through the locks we are accosted by more vultures from boats who throw items up onto the deck. Mary wants a table cloth so Greg says "2 for $10" to include the one they threw on the deck. Greg throws the money back down but now the guy wants his first cloth back. He yells at us for a good half hour until he finally can't follow us. Hopefully we are done with these vendors. But now we have a story to go with the tablecloths. I put on my swim suit and soak for a while in the pool. Very refreshing.
Hanan gives a talk about women in Egypt, we have a farewell cocktail and then our last dinner in the Aquavit Terrace. Some Egyptian dishes. Lovely night with a view of Queen Hapshepsut temple lit up. Off to bed. We have to have our suitcases out and ready to go at 6:30 a.m.
