Luxor to Edfu and back -- Oct 9
We have the morning off and so we sleep in which is much needed! I grab coffee and a croissant at the coffee station. The ship sets sail at 8am and it is great to catch some of the scenery as we journey down the Nile. We have lunch before we head out for the afternoon. Veal cutlet for me.
Back in time to relax and watch the trip back to Luxor. There is a welcome reception with the ship's staff, then an intro to tomorrow's tour. We dinner upstairs again, this time joined by a shipmate named Doug. Egyptian tasting menu. Pudding-like dessert is the highlight.
Today's outing is to the Dendera Temple. It's a short drive away. It's a Greco Roman era temple but well preserved and not at all populated, so we enjoy the lack of crowds and Hanan's great commentary. Cleopatra imagery is one of the high points.
